MCBot is a desktop application made by Cane Bay Computers & Mobile ("we"). It runs on your computer.
We don't operate a server for MCBot and we don't collect analytics, telemetry or personal data through it.
Microsoft account sign-in
You sign in on Microsoft's own sign-in page; MCBot never sees or stores your password.
MCBot receives tokens from Microsoft, Xbox Live and Minecraft services so it can start the game as you,
plus your Minecraft profile name, ID and skin.
These tokens are stored only on your computer, encrypted with your operating system's keyring, and are sent
only to Microsoft, Xbox Live and Minecraft services. You can remove an account in MCBot at any time, which
deletes its tokens.
Services MCBot talks to
Mojang / Minecraft (game files, version lists) and Microsoft / Xbox Live (sign-in).
Mod sources: Modrinth, and CurseForge if you add your own API key, to search and download content.
Mod loaders and Java: Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge's official servers, and Eclipse Adoptium for Java runtimes.
Backups: only the storage you configure yourself (S3-compatible storage, an SFTP server or a folder).
AI features use the AI coding tool you install and sign in to yourself (Claude Code by default). What you
ask it, and the files it reads to help, go to that tool's provider under its own terms. MCBot adds no account or server of its own.
Each of those services has its own privacy policy. MCBot sends them only what's needed for the feature you use.
Data on your computer
Settings, instances, logs, backups and account tokens are kept in MCBot's data folder on your computer
(on Linux, ~/.local/share/mcbot). Uninstalling MCBot and deleting that folder removes them.
Children
MCBot doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. Microsoft account rules
(including family settings) apply to sign-in.
